BOOK SPINE POEM

You will be crafting a poem using titles or partial titles from the spines of books from the library:

Your poem needs to be at least 10 lines, but one line can contain more than one book spine in a line.

Your poem must make some semblance of sense. (i.e. have a narrative, connectivity, etc.)

You can choose any "style" you want... free verse, etc. (obviously, HAIKU won't work)

NMSI reward info

In February you received information about the NMSI Student Qualifying Scores Awards. Students are rewarded for their hard work by receiving a $100 award for each qualifying score they receive on NMSI-supported math, science, English and Computer Science Advanced Placement exams.

As communicated in February students will receive their awards via electronically delivered Amazon gift cards after verification of their qualifying scores. NMSI will begin collecting and verifying student scores in the summer and we anticipate awards will be distributed as early as October.

For students to receive their award they must provide NMSI with an email address where they would like the Amazon gift card delivered. Please provide the Student Awards Email Survey link at the bottom of the message to students who are in NMSI-supported Advanced Placement courses.

Students may use their school issued or personal email address. We recommend students who are graduating or not returning to the school provide a personal email address to ensure they receive the gift card. Student can also provide a parent email address.

Benefits of the Amazon Gift Card
·         Delivery of student awards is immediate – students don’t have to wait on and cash paper checks.
·         Delivery of student awards is electronic – students don’t have to worry about losing paper checks or paying fees to cash them. They can immediately use  their gift card.
·         Graduating students don’t have to return to the school to collect their student awards.
·         Schools can more quickly host celebration ceremonies and don’t have to manage the distribution of paper checks.

Next Steps
·         May 2019 - Students will take the College Board AP exams in May 2019.
·         August – September 2019 - NMSI receives the score data files and begins processing and verifying scores.
·         September 2019 - Students will receive an email from NMSI notifying them that their student award gift card will be arriving shortly. This email allows us to notify the student and verify that the email address is valid.
·         October 2019 - Students will begin receiving their awards directly from Amazon.com.

Please complete your information by May 31, 2019.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the NMSI College Readiness Program.

Thank you,

The NMSI Program Team
